Have you ever seen those little forms or calls-to-action on a landing page that offer you a PDF, an eBook, or a whitepaper for free? All you have to do is simply fill in your information and hit ‘Submit’.
These free gifts are called Lead Magnets. We’ve seen our opt-in rate go up by more than 400% just by using lead magnets.
Why Lead Magnets?
Almost all internet marketers use lead magnets to attract leads and eventually grow their sales. But Why? Why are lead magnets so important? It’s a bribe to entice your readers to sign up on your mailing list.
Studies show that companies that use lead magnets as one of their marketing strategies capture about 75% of their leads from just lead magnets. And converting those leads into sales is much easier, because you’ve built trust.
How to set up Lead Magnets using Leadpages?
Before you start creating a Lead Magnet, there are a few things that you should consider. Your Lead Magnet should make an impact. It should be something that your client might need and it should deliver the promise. Even though it is a free gift, you cannot compromise on its quality.
It has to be valuable, informational and useful. That is how you build trust and demonstrate value.
In this article, I will walk you through a step-by- step procedure to set-up Lead Magnets using Leadpages.
Step 1
Log in to your Leadpages account or create an account if you don’t already have an account. Once you’re logged in, you’ll find your account name on the top right corner of your page. Click on your name, and select Lead Magnets from the dropdown.
Now, click on ‘Create Lead Magnet’, and the screen below will appear.
Step 2
Now, choose a name for your Lead Magnet and fill in the sender details and upload the file that you wish to send your clients.
Once you’ve entered all the details, hit ‘Save’. Please note that the email will be sent to your lead from the email address ‘no_reply@leadbrite.com’. However, all the replies will be sent to the ‘Sender email’ you selected.
Step 3
For making the file download easier and quicker, you can connect your Lead Magnet to the form or page that contains the call-to- action. This way, as soon as the prospect submits the form, he gets an email with the file. If you’re using Leadpages to build your landing pages, this is how you can connect your lead magnet to your landing page.
‘Drag and Drop’ Builder:
If you’re using a ‘drag and drop’ type builder, you can easily insert a form using widgets, or use an existing form on the page. Now, click on the form and go to the ‘form settings’, and click on ‘Follow Up’ tab.
Now click on ‘Add a file’ and select the lead magnet you just saved. Save and close your form and publish your page. Your email will be sent to your lead as soon as they submit the form.
‘Standard’ Builder:
If you’re using a ‘Standard’ type builder, click on your call-to- action button and open its associated form.
On the top of the form settings, turn the button “On” next to ‘Send an email after someone opts in on this Leadbox’. Select the saved Lead Magnet from the dropdown and click on ‘Save’. Your email will be sent to your subscriber as soon as they submit the form.
Your Lead Magnet is one of the most refined and effective ways to encourage your visitors to join your mailing list, and if you are trying to increase your opt-in rate, consider using a lead magnet.
