One of the most important elements of email marketing is autoresponders.
An investment in a good autoresponder service is important to build successful email campaigns.
Mailchimp, along with helping you create the best email campaigns, is also one of the leading automation service providers. In this article, you will learn how to set up autoresponders on Mailchimp. However, before we get started, there are a few things you should know.
The Mailchimp Automation service is only available on paid accounts. Here’s a quick step-by-step guide to setting up your autoresponder.
Log in to your Mailchimp account and click on the ‘Automation’ tab. Now, click on ‘Add Automation’.
The next step is to select your automation type from the available options. Mailchimp has created several default options based on different industry and business types. Choose the type that best suits your requirement.
Now click on ‘Add Automation’. In the ‘Add Automation’ pop-up, you’ll have to choose a name for your automation and the recipient list to whom you plan on sending the autoresponder, and click on ‘Next’.
The next step is to start editing your email. Click on ‘Design Email’
Now, enter the name of your email, the subject line, the From Name and From Address, and click on ‘Next’.
Once you click on ‘Next’, you will be led to the template page, from where you can choose an appropriate template for your email. Select the most suitable template, depending on the message that you want to send and click on ‘Next’.
The next step is to design your email using the template. Use text, image, buttons, social share options and all the elements that you want to include in your email. Once you’ve designed your email, click on ‘Save Workflow Email’.
You’re almost done now. Before you kick start your autoresponder, review your workflow. You can make changes to your workflow by clicking on ‘Edit’.
Once you’re done reviewing your automation and you’re ready to start sending autoresponders, click on ‘Start Workflow’ on the bottom right corner of your screen.
Please note that it is always better to test your autoresponders by sending yourself a test email before sending it to your mailing list. Mailchimp not only enables you to send autoresponders at definite intervals, it also helps you track clicks and opens.
